The SmartCard-8 intelligent communications co-processor provides a step in performance beyond ordinary communications boards. The SmartCard-8 has an on-board "FOSSIL" driver which recognizes all types of FOSSIL based software. The SmartCard-8's buffers are 200 times greater that those of a 16C550 UART's FIFO making it perfect for multi-tasking operating systems!

Included on the SmartCard-8 is the revolutionary BBS Guardian Watchdog Circuit which constantly monitors the status of the BBS system. In the event of a "lock-up", the Guardian Performs a hardware reset on the computer. This feature keeps "down-time" to a minimum.
